A montrer du doigt

Alors que je m'assieds ce soir après avoir vu et entendu les reportages sur les multiples désastres infligés par les terroristes dans le Nord-Est, je suis abasourdi, comme la plupart des Américains. Mais je suis également réconforté par les nombreux appels reçus, non seulement de notre pays, mais aussi du monde entier. Les personnes ayant appris qu'un des avions s'était abattu près de Pittsburg en Pennsylvanie, étaient inquiètes pour ma sécurité. Que Dieu vous bénisse. Un message téléphonique venait de mon ami Pero, de Bosnie. Il priait le Seigneur d'aider l'Amérique et cela m'a rempli les yeux de larmes.

Alors que j'écoutais et regardais les nouvelles, il me sembla que quelque chose se dévoilait. C'était comme une respiration d'air frais venant du ciel, au milieu de la fumée et des débris. Ce désastre était un appel au réveil. C'était un message nous signifiant que nous étions devenus faibles. La plus petite fraction de la population mondiale, guidée par Satan, avait mis en oeuvre sa folie. Mais ce qui était dévoilé, c'était l'arme, restée si longtemps cachée, des Etats-Unis d'Amérique. La Prière !

J'ai entendu le Congrès et les sénateurs appelant la bénédiction de Dieu. C'est sur les marches du Capitol qu'ils ont chanté aujourd'hui "Que Dieu bénisse l'Amérique". Est-il possible que ces poltrons qui avaient autorisé l'annulation des prières récitées à l'école, priaient eux-mêmes aujourd'hui si fort ? Je ne peux m'empêcher de me demander si, durant les sessions de la Cour Suprême, alors qu'ils apprenaient les terribles nouvelles, ils ont prié aussi.

J'ai entendu les mots "Dieu", "prière" et "bénédiction", employés en leur juste sens, sur les nouvelles des chaînes, du câble et du satellite, davantage en 12 heures que durant ces cinq dernières années. Serait-il possible que nous ayons besoin d'une dose de catastrophes de temps en temps pour nous ramener à notre spiritualité ? Je ne veux offenser aucun de ceux qui ont perdu un être cher ni aucun des blessés de cet acte lâche et catastrophique. Je n'ai pas non plus l'intention de banaliser cet énorme événement de l'histoire de l'Amérique, mais je désire faire remarquer que nous l'avons cherché.

Nous avons baissé la garde et permis au mal d'envenimer l'Amérique. La télévision, pleine de sexe, de drogue et de violence, a aidé à faire cela. Les millions d'avortements ont alimenté le feu. Les télévisions elles-mêmes qui il y a quelques semaines annonçaient qu'elles iraient jusqu'à promouvoir le blasphème de Dieu au cours de la saison prochaine, se donnent aujourd'hui un rôle d'individus dévots. Aussi avant de nous égarer, cherchant les coupables partout dans le monde, regardons un peu plus près de chez nous. Faisons ici notre examen de conscience, et trouvons où nous devrions pointer le doigt.

Quoique je ressentes moi-même le besoin de donner mon sang, dont les besoins sont si urgents, je connais un meilleur remède à nos maux, et à la portée plus longue. Pourquoi s'arrêter à un seul jour de prière ? Pourquoi ne pas faire de la prière un mode de vie, comme c'était le cas autrefois dans notre belle Amérique ?

Pointons le doigt dans la bonne direction ; Osama bin Laden n'a été que l'instrument du Mal. Nous, par notre apathie, avons été l'engrais qui a fait grandir l'arbre.
C'est la prière dans les écoles, les cours, les bureaux, les maisons et les églises qui tiendra le Mal en échec.

Pointing the Finger

As I sit this evening, after hearing and seeing the reports of multiple terrorist-inflicted disasters in the northeast, I am stunned, as are most Americans. I am equally lifted by the numerous calls I received from not only from around this country, but also from around the world. People simply hearing that one of the planes went down near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania were concerned for my safety. God bless you. One phone message was from my friend, Pero, in Bosnia. He was pleading with the Lord to help America and it made my eyes well with tears.

As I listened and watched the news reports, I witnessed something become unveiled. It seemed as a breath of fresh air from the heavens in the midst of the billowing plumes of smoke and debris earthbound. This disaster was a wake up call. It was a message that we have become weak. It was only the tiniest fraction of the world's population, guided by Satan, which carried out his folly. But what was unveiled was a long-tucked away weapon of the United States of America. Prayer!

I heard congressmen and senators beckoning to God for His blessing. It was on the steps of the Capitol Building that they sang God Bless America this day. Could it be that the very cowards who allowed prayer to be banned in schools were praying themselves, out loud ? I can't help but wonder if during the Supreme Court sessions, as they heard the terrible news, even they prayed.

I heard the words God, prayer and bless, in the correct sense, on network, cable and satellite news more in a twelve-hour period than I have heard in the past five years. Could it be that we need a dose of disaster once in a while to bring us back to our spiritual senses? I do not want to offend anyone who lost a loved one or someone who was injured in this catastrophic, dastardly deed. I do not mean to trivialize this enormous event in American history either, but I do want to point out that we have been asking for it.

We lowered our guard and allowed evil to fester in America. It was television filled with sex drugs and violence that helped cause this. It was the millions of abortions that fueled the fire. The very networks that just weeks ago said that they were going to push the envelope in the realm of blaspheming God in the upcoming season, now took on the role of devout individuals. So before we go off half-cocked, tracking down the culprits halfway around the world, let's look a little closer to home. Let us do some soul searching here and find where we should first point the finger.

I believe the very pinnacle of fault lies with the A.C.L.U. as they do battle against God on every corner of every town in America. And as they convince more and more of our Godless judges to take away our Godliness, we see the fruit of the tree. It is a tragedy that those planes killed innocent people. Not that I would want this, but if planes had to be used, why could they not crash into A.C.L.U. headquarters or even the N.O.W. offices? But that is not how evil works. Evil seemingly affects the good and allows the bad to flourish.

Although I, myself, felt the need to give blood as it was so urgently needed, I know a far better and much longer lasting cure for our ills. Why stop with one day of prayer? Why not make prayer a lifestyle, as it once was in our beautiful America?

Why do we tolerate organizations that call God's wrath upon us? Why let Disney and Michel Eisner dictate what we watch? Why let the Gloria Steinems lead us to the death of our children? Why do we allow the Madelyn O'Hares to tell us we cannot pray? Why do we tolerate the likes of Bill Gates and Ted Turner as they publicly champion and fund population control? Why do we allow all those who sold their souls to Satan dictate to us what gifts we will and will not receive from God? Is it not obvious that God can control His own population?

Point the finger in the right direction; Osama bin Laden was just the tool of evil. We, in our apathy, were the fertilizer that made this tree grow.
But there is, in America, planters of seeds that cause it all. Prayer in schools, courts, offices and homes and in churches is what holds evil in check. We got away from that did we not? And if we do not get back to prayer, we will find America going to Hell in a hand basket.
